| Days 1-2 | Rome | Arrive early to get acquainted with the famous Forum and Colosseum. Scale the Spanish steps and perhaps work up an appetite for dinner tonight shopping around the Corso. |
| Day 3 | Naples | Savour a slice of pizza and wander the Old Quarter to uncover Naples' colourful past. |
| Days 4-5 | Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius | Be moved by the ruins of Pompeii and trek up the majestic volcano that created them. |
| Days 6-8 | Amalfi Coast | Follow the Footpath of the Gods to pretty Positano and enjoy the fantastic scenery along the way. Later, it's possible to sail to Isle of Capri and listen for the songs of the mythical Sirens or shop in stylish Sorrento. |
| Days 9-10 | Palermo | Sail to Sicily to marvel at the intricate mosaics in the magnificent Norman Duomo of Monreale. Afterwards, sate your hunger on the waterfront in vibrant Palermo, and perhaps try some pescespada, delicious swordfish cooked on the grill. |
| Day 11 | Ficuzza | Leave the city behind, and get some fresh mountain air with a hike through the lush forests of this nature reserve. |
| Days 12-13 | Taormina | Regarded as Sicily's ultimate holiday paradise, Taormina is best experienced on foot. Maybe explore the nearby Greek theatre before ambling down to the beach at Lido Mazzaro for a bit of fun in the sun, Sicilian-style. |
| Days 14-16 | Catania and Syracuse | Take in fine views of smouldering Mt Etna, long-believed to be the realm of the gods. Soak up the sounds and scents of multicultural Catania before enjoying traditional Sicilian puppet theatre in intriguing Syracuse, home of the great scholar Archimedes. |
